Efficiency Upgrades

National Machinery's philosophy is to always strive for improvement. The design improvements that have been made on FORMAX over the last 15 years are now available as retrofits to increase your existing FORMAX machine's performance. These FORMAX  Efficiency Upgrades can be installed easily and affordably and include both mechanical and electrical upgrades.
HYDRAULIC             REWIRE

Mechanical Upgrades

  • Air Seal Under the Heading Slide - A special manifold designed to reduce mixing of coolant and machine oils.
  • Transfer - The FX 2000 Straight Across Transfer has proven to be more durable than previous transfers,
    has fewer wear parts, requires less maintenance, and ultimately allows more up time for production.
  • Automated Die Area Access Door - A combination air motor and chain drive that provides automated opening and closing of the die area door on FX4 and FX5 size machines.
  • Kickout Rod Shear Pin and Lubrication - The rod lubrication and shear pin mechanism shearing action has been improved along with the ability to access the shear pin.
  • Closed Hydraulic System - A separate closed system for the hydraulic system to allow for better operating
    conditions, increased reliability and reduced maintenance.
  • Ventilated Brake Guard - Pressurized air exchange over the brake to reduce oil mist on the discs, improve
    performance, and reduce maintenance.
  • Inner Die Door - A new inner die door arrangement on most FX4 and FX5 machines that allows the machine
    jogging for job setup, with the main die access door open.  This results in more efficient job changeovers
    and part development.

Electrical Upgrades

  • Wiring Harness - Wiring and components that can better withstand today's harsh production environment.
  • Variable Speed Drive - A microprocessor based digital drive that gives you more flexibility in part
    development and forming different material and parts.
  • Digital Machine Position - A programmable controller with a digital display that makes machine position
    readout more reliable and simple.
  • Formatrol PC - An advanced PC-based control for FORMAX and FORMAX Plus models that helps to extend your machines' electrical component life. This push button control station gives valuable data in the functions
    of operator convenience, systems diagnostics, and maintenance planning.
